It’s Hard to Hug a Cow

It’s Hard to Hug a Cow

by Su Colstrom ~ illustrated by Susie Wecker

It’s Hard to Hug a Cow is about a Registered Red Angus cow that is not just seen through the eyes of a human as a milk producing, profit making animal but as a friend. It’s Hard to Hug a Cow starts out with realistic pencil drawings going to cartoon drawings with comedic intent during the anticipated act of hugging this adorable critter. This is a fun book for those who love farm animals not to mention the Registered Red Angus raisers.

P.S. My friends call me the Dr. Seuss of cows!

REVIEWS

“Holy cow and a moo, moo, moo! This is a beautiful book. I can imagine a parent reading this to a little one. The child could create story after story with the turn of each page. Su’s explanation of how to hug a cow is funny and fascinating. The illustrations create many possibilities for a child to make up many many more stories. Su and Susie have collaborated to make this children’s book one that will be loved. Personally, I have it on my coffee table – a great addition!”

Childrens Books, Cows – A charming book about a subject that is not thought about. Sue speaks from heart and has obviously has the experience to be THE AUTHORITY on the subject. If there is one fault is the drawings do not have saturated colors, this probably my fault as I am over 70 and I like bold colors. The choice of type setting large enough for easy reading for adult, child or a senior like me. I got one for my great granddaughter and one for my wife. If you have youngsters ( or your young at heart ) buy this book, read it to them (or yourself) so they (you) will know how to hug a cow, it the opportunity presents it’s self. – SLS

Lovely - Lovely little story that provides children with real info about cows. Illustrations a bit muted but quite effective. – LW

Very cute story and great pictures/illustrations! – My 18 month old daughter loves this book! Very cute story and great pictures/illustrations! – EK
